Types of injections offered by me, Dr. Kayla Ruschowski, Kamloops Naturopath.
B12
Adequate B12 levels are important for many functions in the body, including supporting the health of red blood cells, the nervous system, optimal energy and mental health. Those at risk of B12 deficiency include older adults and those consuming a vegetarian or vegan diet. Your doctor may order bloodwork to see your B12 levels. In cases of deficiency, weekly injections may be recommended for a few weeks to quickly raise B12 levels. People who are deficient in B12 often notice the benefits immediately.
Adrenal Support
The adrenal glands are two walnut-sized organs that are located on top of the kidneys. They are responsible for producing many hormones, some of which include the stress hormones cortisol, adrenaline, and noradrenaline. Chronic stress taxes the adrenal glands and can cause symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, low mood, sleep disturbances, and food cravings. The adrenal glands rely on replete levels of nutrients to support optimal function. When a person is recovering from a period of stress, these nutrients become more important in order to heal and return to normal energy levels. This injection supplies those nutrients, and is often recommended on a weekly basis.
Lipotrophic
This injection is also called an MIC injection because it contains methionine, inositol, and choline. These ingredients are lipotrophic, which means that they help with the breakdown of fat in the body. They specifically act on the liver to help mobilize fat stores. This injection formula also includes B Vitamins which may increase energy and l-carnitine which helps transport fatty acids across the mitochondrial membrane.
B Complex
B vitamins are important for mood, energy, immunity, detoxification, stress management, and metabolism. There are some dietary factors that put individuals at risk of B vitamin deficiency, including vegetarian and vegan diets, low fruit and vegetable consumption, and high alcohol or caffeine intake. Chronic stress and some medications such as oral contraceptives also deplete B vitamins, making supplementation beneficial. B complex injections are also helpful for nausea during pregnancy.
